Welcome to Sustonica S.L., a sustainability scheme for vacation rental homes. By visiting our site and/or purchasing our scheme, you engage in our “Service” and agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions (“Terms and Conditions”, “Terms”).

These Terms include those additional terms and conditions and policies referenced herein and/or available by hyperlink. These Terms and Conditions apply to all users of the site, including without limitation, users who are browsers, customers, and/or contributors of content.

By accessing or using our Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these Terms and Conditions, please do not use our Service.


Sustonica S.L. is the Scheme Owner, responsible for developing and maintaining the Sustonica scheme according to the Sustonica standard, which is publicly available on our website. Please note that Sustonica S.L. does not validate the information provided by owners or managers of vacation rental properties.


Sustonica S.L. offers a sustainability validation for vacation rental homes. To achieve validation, properties must meet certain environmental and social standards as determined by Sustonica S.L.

By purchasing the validation, the property owner or managers agrees to these terms and conditions and commits to maintaining the standards required for validation throughout the validity period.

The Sustonica standard is subject to change and we reserve the right to make updates or revisions to the standard at any time without notice.


In order for the external body to evaluate properties for validation, Sustonica S.L. collects self-assessment proofs in the form of documentation (such as invoices, app screenshots, and receipts) and a geolocated photo tour of the rental. The photos taken during the tour are saved and shared with our external verification partners.

By using our software, you explicitly agree to have your property’s information, including its address, license number, documentation, and photos, stored by Sustonica S.L. and reviewed by our auditing partners. Please note that failure to provide this information will result in delayed or denied validation.


When you purchase our verification service and use our software, you explicitly agree that our verifier may conduct a random and unannounced on-site visit of the property being submitted for verification. This on-site visit typically takes only 20 minutes, and is free of charge for property owners or managers, as the cost is covered by Sustonica S.L.


Sustonica S.L. respects the privacy rights of its customers and is compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). All information shared by clients will be kept confidential and will not be shared with any third parties without the explicit consent of the client. We assure that all the provided information will be used only for the verification process. Our privacy policy can be found on our website.


Our validation service pricing includes the use of our validation software, the cost of the external verification body, a digital validation document, and a badge that is valid for one year from the validation date.

Please note that prices for our validation service are subject to change. We will communicate any pricing adjustments to the property owner or manager before validation.

Full payment for the Sustonica validation service is required prior to the use of the software and is non-refundable. Payment must be made through Stripe using a credit card.

If the rental property fails to meet the validation standard, the owner or manager must purchase another validation credit to repeat the process.


To maintain validation, a property must exceed the previous Sustonica score each year. The minimum improvement depends on the previous year’s score:

20-30% score = +4% on renewal
31-50% score = +3% on renewal
51% and above score = +2% on renewal

This condition applies annually after the initial validity period of one year has elapsed.


We explicitly state that the use of Sustonica’s badge in any promotional material, including webpages or watermarks on listing photos, must adhere to the following guidelines:

Validity and Expiration: Only active, valid badges may be used in promotional material. If a badge has expired or has not been legitimately achieved, it is strictly forbidden to use it in any promotional context.

Accurate Representation: Badge usage must accurately represent the achievements of the badge holder. Users are not allowed to display badges they have not earned or no longer qualify for.

No Misleading Content: The badge should not be presented in a way that may mislead others into thinking the badge holder currently possesses the recognition that they do not actually hold.

Sustonica reserves the right to monitor and enforce compliance with these guidelines. In the event of any violation, we maintain the right to take appropriate legal action, including but not limited to seeking damages.


We reserve the right to refuse any order placed with us at any time and for any reason, at our sole discretion. This includes, but is not limited to, orders that we believe to be in violation of our terms and conditions, or orders that we believe to be fraudulent or in violation of the law. If we refuse an order, we will make all reasonable efforts to notify you of the reason for our refusal and to offer a resolution.

Sustonica S.L. reserves the right to discontinue the validation service at any time and for any reason, without notice. If we discontinue the service, we will not be liable to you or any third party for any damages or compensation resulting from the discontinuation of the service.


We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to update, change or replace any part of these Terms and Conditions at any time. It is the responsibility of the user to check these terms and conditions periodically for changes. Your continued use of or access to the website following the posting of any changes to these terms and conditions constitute acceptance of those changes. If any part of these Terms and Conditions is deemed to be invalid, void or unenforceable, that part will be deemed severable and will not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions.
